Who: Anyone
What: A movie, a TV series, and perhaps a little something in between.
The movie is Escaflowne, A Girl in Gaia. Courtesy NAME_REMOVED_BY_REQUEST we have the DVD, and
thanks to the WWW we also have English subtitles for the DVD. It's a little more
violent than the TV series and the storyline differs substantially. Its something I
think the average fan can still enjoy however.
The TV series is Now and Then, Here and There. The series doesn't have a big company
like Bandai or ADV behind it. so it's a commercially R1 released DVD that's been sort of
ignored by many. So far it's been the biggest surprise for me this year. Compared to
other TV series that I've shown, like Flame of Recca or Initial D, it has a class and
style that goes well beyond either of these. Both of those series are entertaining
(will Funimation some day release FoR- please), but there's something more in this
series. It's a 13 episode series, I have the first 9, and hopefully we can get though
the first 5-7 or so.
When: Friday April 5th. Hopefully we can get started around 7-7:30, but we'll wait for
a decent number of people to show up. Feel free to come and go as you please, I'm sure
there's a lot more interesting things to do on the first Friday of April than to sit and
watch anime for some people, I'm just not of them.
Where: 6005 Dalecross Way.
