Rica Fukami is a voice actress known for her work as Sailor Venus in
Sailor Moon as well as Myung in Macross Plus. Junichi Hayama is best
known as the character designer for Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Fist
of the North Star.
Panel Report
I don't have much to state about Hayama's part of this panel, as a
scheduling problem caused these two panels to be combined yet the ones
waiting for the Fukami panel were brought in late into the Q&A
session, and I am not familiar with his work. So this report is
primarily about Rica Fukami.
Rica Fukami is probably best known in the US for her voice work as
Sailor Venus in Sailor Moon, although she has had many roles besides.
Her newest role is the "mysterious woman" in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure,
which Mr. Hayama is/was the character designer for.
Most of the questions she was asked involved Sailor Moon, which was
to be expected. One of the more unique questions, however, was about
her opinion on the Sailor Moon musicals. She said that at first some
of the voice actors from the TV series would introduce the shows and
give a talk before the play began - and that a good portion of the
crowd would leave when the talk was over and not stay for the musical.
However, this has changed, and the musicals have come into more of a
life of their own beyond the scope of the TV series.
As a voice actress is best known by her voice, however, the high point of the panel was the character voice demonstrations:
